CHALLENGES

Ridgewood Orthopedics had more than 80 forms that needed to be filled by hand, plus 16 different versions of a patient letter. Manual paperwork was time-consuming and error-prone, and rescheduling surgeries was a nightmare. ROG had to hire extra staff to deal with authorizations and precerts because the schedulers simply couldn’t keep up.

In 2012, ROG decided to automate their workflow with Surgimate and generate all forms electronically. The 16 patient letters were consolidated into two standardized versions generated with custom patient data. With surgery scheduling time reduced, ROG no longer needs to hire extra staff as the schedulers can now handle authorizations on their own.
