Paperwork was a major bottleneck in the surgical scheduling workflow at The Orthopaedic Group (TOG). Completing forms by hand was an inefficient and error-prone process, and rescheduling surgeries was very time consuming. Tracking was also done manually, and things would often get missed because they were lying in a pile of paper on someone’s desk.

In 2011, TOG installed Surgimate and completely transformed their scheduling workflow. All paperwork is now generated automatically, tracking has been streamlined, and all the calendars in the practice are synchronized in real-time. Staff use the dashboard to quickly determine where each case stands and highlight what needs to be completed prior to the surgery. With thorough tracking in place, there are fewer cancellations and a higher volume of surgeries being scheduled.
