About The Position

At Surgimate, we are on a mission to change how healthcare practices manage the most important part of their business – surgery.

As Financial Manager, you are responsible for the company’s financial management reporting activities and budget planning. You lead a team of dedicated professionals in all aspects of the company’s financial management, providing clear direction, motivation, and mentorship during a period of company growth. You are hands-on, data and metrics-driven, detail-oriented, and manage accounting across several currencies. You have constant energy to motivate your team to perform well. You are also highly ethical, putting the company’s interests and reputation first. 

You report to our CFO. You also collaborate closely with all leadership team members to provide support, drive efficiency, and gather data.

 

Responsibilities:

1.      Financial Strategy and Planning:

–       Implement financial strategies developed by the company’s CFO that are aligned with the company’s overall objectives.

–       Provide insights and recommendations to leadership on financial performance, risks, and opportunities.

2.     Budgeting and Forecasting:

–       Lead the annual budgeting process, utilizing team resources and collaboration with department heads to meet financial targets.

–       Maintain accurate financial forecasts to support decision-making and resource allocation.

3.     Financial reporting:

– Prepare and present timely and accurate financial statements, monthly reports, and analyses, including P&L and monthly financial statements.

–       Ensure compliance with accounting principles, local regulations, and international financial reporting standards.

4.    Team leadership and development:

–       Manage the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.

–       Manage and utilize service providers in Israel and in the US, ensuring effective and efficient service.

–       Coordinate financial management in the US and in Israel, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.

–      Strengthen current internal controls and improve processes.

5.     Cashflow management:

–       Safeguard, manage and monitor bank accounts and payment methods.

– Monitor and manage cash flow, working capital, and financial risk.

–       Ensure optimal liquidity.

6.      Compliance:

–       Ensure compliance with tax laws, regulatory requirements, and reporting obligations in Israel and the US.

7.      Controller functions:

–       Oversee and perform day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, general ledger closure, revenue recognition, payroll, commission calculation, etc.

–       Perform intercompany transactions and reconciliation.

–       Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets.

–       Engage with a vendor and manage a project of implementing NetSuite system for bookkeeping and reporting.

8.      Audit coordination:

–       Manage relationships with external auditors, facilitating the audit process.

–       Implement audit recommendations to enhance financial processes and controls. 

The job is open for candidates who can easily attend the office in Jerusalem 3 times a week

Requirements

  1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field. An Israeli CPA license is a must.
  2. Experience: proven experience as a Controller or Financial Manager in a SaaS company. Experience from digital health/health IT companies – advantage.
  3. Skills: Strong analytical skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, and familiarity with Israeli and US accounting principles and regulations (IFRS and GAAP).
  4. Technology: proficiency in financial software systems, preferably NetSuite. Experience managing NetSuite or another financial management system implementation is a key requirement—Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, as well as other tools.
  5. Management: proven track record of team management in a rapidly changing environment.
  6. Hours: Flexible. Ability to work some amount of Israeli and US hours (Sunday to Thursday)
  7. Language: complete Hebrew and English proficiency (both written and verbal) 
  8. Ability to work in the office in Jerusalem 3 times a week
